Day 16 Granum to Taber

Well off we go to Taber. But first we were served breakfast.  Pancakes and bacon. It was awesome.
After a few km we knew we were in Alberta.

The rain came most of the night. So this morning we dressed for the rain.

It was hot in the rain gear so I shed my gear at the first stop. U can actually still see the mountains in the background.

The next stop was in a little town.

We were hosted by a couple who met on the 2005 ride and got married.

Oh ya cinnamon buns with cream cheese icing.

We went through some rolling hills

Before we came to a town with a great bakery. Ruben and Ian stood by the sign just for me
Did I mention it's a Dutch bakery. The food was awesome. Carrie went back and picked up a bunch of goodies including droppies.
We passed a lot of farm fields but here is one in action.

We also passed by a giant marshmallow farm.

The next stop was a great lunch stop. We signed a map and even got to practice my Dutch speaking.

I had to go real bad and since there aren't many trees

Saw quite a few old cars with campers behind them not sure where they were going.

The wind was strong today. Some times in our face but other times our sides. You had to work with a partner to go against it.
Billy saluting us as we headed down the longest hill of the day.

Climbing up the other side.
Beautiful country.
As the sign says.
Dangerous goods following.  I think it was the only time I led.

When nature calls.

Last stop before Taber

According to this barn looks like Taber will be welcoming. See you later.

  1. Len - now I know why you do this - for the food. It's all about the food! Just kidding, but it is about the food for those less fortunate. Safe travels Len.
