Boozville to Chama

Alright first things first. Here's Kevin.
Well we left the winery. Well today was one of those up hill days. The ride was tough one. We left  just before 7 am and started to climb. Here's a pic of the entrance to the winery.
The scenery was spectacular. I got lots of pics but I'm not sure if they'll show how get it was
Today we road 90 miles  or 145 km. we climbed 6000 ft and gave back just under 4000 ft. We started the day at over 5000 ft and ended up at 7600 ft. The climbing is tough but when you add in the altitude it makes it even harder.
The change in landscape was cool. We went from desert to valleys with pine trees. Back to high rock walls.
The Mesa's slowly disappeared and the mountains kept coming closer. It was a tough physical day any quite a few people had to pack it in at different stages. It was hot today and as you came through different valleys you would get a blast of hot air in your face.
The valleys started to have grass in them.
We went down this hill and over the bridge that you see below.
The pic at the top has what I call the Indian sphinx. Yes I made that up. I guess I should call it a native sphinx.
We got into the town of Dulce. In the background you can see what they call narrow track trains. Apparently it's about a foot narrower then a normal track. It was made like that to climb and make sharper corners. This area is known for the narrow track railroads.
Well we passed the continental divide. Read the sign. So we took a leak to see which way the water would flow. The day seemed to drag on. It was a lot if climbing. We arrived in camp at little creel
Lodge, in Chama at 4 pm. Long day.
See you tommorow   Len
