Day 29. Winnipeg to vasser

After a nice relaxing weekend it was time to put our working boots on.
Looks like Wayne forgot something.

I'm awake and Albert is still here. I had to pinch myself to see if I was awake.

Down the streets of Winnipeg in the early morning.
Is that a train coming straight for me. That's my shadow not flipping it off
Good stuff next to the road.
160 km today. We're heading south. Turns out the wind was heading the opposite direction.

More trees. Straight roads.

More fields of black muck that go on forever.

Not the best place for a nap on the ride. He's ok.

We stopped to take a pic

The centre of Canada.

Here's a family cheering us on. They weee loving my Dutch jersey.
We missed the first rest stop to go off course and see the landmark and that gave us extra km and no water.  The next stop was busy.

With the strong headwinds we started picking up more riders.

Passed some future Big Macs.

Our herd kept growing. We were mooving down the highway.

With no shoulders for most of the ride we had to be very aware of the trucks behind and before us.
Harold and Ruben did a great job today helping to pull a lot of people to camp.

That's a lot of $&it   Not the tractor to draft behind.

Rubens dad s stop. We gathered a few more and headed out.

Harold pulling down a seemingly endless road.

The smiles on there faces are not because I'm taking a pic it's because Carrie gave them cold cokes. Just the boost a lot of them needed. 40 km to go.

More good stuff. No im not a hoarder. I just like old things that need a kick start once and a while. Oh boy. I think I just admitted to liking most of you.

The last road turned north to camp. Finally a tailwind. Time for the sandbaggers to let loose.
As I'm writing this a typical seatosea thing happened. A train went by. In fact ones gone by every hour on the hour. I think he blows his horn about6or7 times. Don't forget earplugs. Long day but blessed to be able to jump in a pool.  Tomorrow we make a run for the boarder.   Len.
