Today we got up, packed up and started out from Herber - overguard . We climbed out of the valley. Well with a good tailwind we were smoken down the road. 80 miles later we arrived at St. John's. The landscape changed from rocks to rolling hills. The scenery is hard to describe. I don't think pics are doing it justice. One section was straight out of a western movie. A single lane railroad track and cliffs and valleys. It was awesome. About 40 miles in we came to a town called snowflake. The town was on the right of us as we came to it. We made the mile detour and found a mc Donald's . I was so excited. Turns out we were too early for lunch. No Big Mac. Bummer. We got back on the road again and saw a long horned bull. Every time we stop, if we stop too long it takes a while to get going. Legs feel like cement.
Into St. John's we rolled in record time. Gotta love a tail wind. We set up in the town park and they were excited to have us. We got to swim in the pool. It had a high diving board and I sprayed the life guard with a jack knife. I also taught everyone the superman dive. We had a peloton meeting and talked about the days ride and also the next days ride. We also talked about the affect we had on the town, as well as the affect the town has on us. After the meeting the town put up a big screen and showed a movie in the park. An American tale. Off to bed, I heard rumblings of a cannon.
